Operators of an Adult Family Care Home are usually persons who desire to operate a true home like environment facility, not exceeding five adults who need assistance with activities of daily living (ADL).   The AFCH operator must reside on the premises.  He / She cannot live off the premises.

There is a 12 hours training required, without a state exam that is required.  The 12 hours training is to be completed before AHCA issues the license to operate.

The provider must reside in the home.
